Georgia on My Mind, Once More

For some time, we have been watching the unfolding legal drama in Georgia, where recently a special grand jury completed its report and recommendations on indictments relating to charges of interference in the 2020 presidential election. Yesterday, the grand jury forewoman gave a series of eyebrow raising interviews in which she made it clear that there were multiple (i.e., more than 12) recommended indictments and that we shouldn’t be “shocked” by whether the former president is (or is not) among them. She dropped this bombshell while providing some additional, specific details about witnesses, including that some were granted immunity to testify.

@trask @jaykuo She is guilty of bad behavior. She did not damage the case. The special grand jury only made recommendations. Indictments will be returned if the evidence warrants it. If they are, the case will be proved at trial or not. This is a sideshow.

@jaykuo it's not a grand jury that brings indictments; a second grand jury would have to do that. It's also a special grand jury that can issue reports even if no crime was committed.

@jaykuo Maybe we can use MTG's national divorce to get rid of this jury bullshit. The legal system is arbitrary and capricious enough even without that garbage.
