Did the NYT really publish an Opinion speculating that young girls today are more depressed than ever because of _phones_?

In a world where they lost the right to control their own reproductive healthcare? Where states are pondering making them report their periods? In a world debating genital inspections to play school sports? While banning books? Where they practice school shooting drills? With climate change? Where sexual assault isn’t disqualifying for public office?

Sure, it’s the phones.

@goosname
Ah sure, you're making that mistake of confusing a few states in the USA with "The World". Anyone attempting a genital inspection around these parts would be arrested PDQ.
@ToniScott @goosname are you under the impression that young girls in currently safe states aren’t looking at what’s happening with abortion rights in 24 states, 301 anti-trans and LGBTQ bills in this legislative session alone, and not feeling concerned for the people who are impacted as well as recognizing that a shift in the political power in the states where they live can easily bring that same fascism to them?
@amaditalks @goosname
Sounds grim, and I'm sorry you live in such a shit country. My only point is that the USA is not "The World".
