All right, I deleted my previous thread about Lemmy (and lemmy.ml) because I received information that it was a victim of a very targeted attack by neo-Nazi trolls.

But I also think two of my previous points are true:

1. With applications being a requirement, most people won't join Lemmy
2. As the attack shows, moderation isn't equipped to scale
3. Without tools being built for community safety, this project might be doomed

It's unfortunate.
