This week, more than 70 Republicans in Congress proposed permanently extending the Trump tax cuts. The bill would add an estimated $3 trillion to the deficit.

Don't be fooled. Republicans in Congress don't care about the deficit. They want tax cuts for their wealthy donors.

Republicans push the Overton as far right as they can. Democrats pull it back by 1/3rd, entrench the other 2/3rds, and threaten their base with the loss of the last 3rd.
It seems very formulaic to me.
It's impossible to move forward when leadership plays games to keep you constantly fighting for what little you have.

I don't agree.

Democrats are flawed, like any political party, but at least they are forward looking, want to preserve civil rights, want people to vote, and are accelerating the transition away from oil.

The Overton Window isn't justification to do nothing about an anti-democracy movement funded by the richest people on the planet.

300 years ago, free PoC was considered "radical".

100 years ago women voting was called "the end of the American family"

50 years ago same-sex marriage was labeled "perversion"

10 years ago people objecting to sexual abuse on the job was " feminism going too far"

5 years ago, PoC being shot by police wasn't "newsworthy"
