@developerjustin ugh, I may have to start looking at moving all of my domains elsewhere. It's just a lot of work, and sometimes expense. 🤦‍♂️
@tim I’m a big fan of Hover! Free whois privacy and super nice UI and admin tools. And I can give you a referral code 😅
@developerjustin I've looked at them in the past and either it was going to be significantly more expensive and/or they didn't support all of the TLDs I have.
@tim ah, damn. Maybe leave the registration and just make sure you have 2FA but move your DNS? Not ideal but better than nothing.
@developerjustin yeah, I'll have to do some checking, it's been some years since I did a domain consolidation and price check. I've since ended up registering some domains elsewhere so it's probably a good idea to go through it again and try to move away from GoDaddy.

@developerjustin so, I took some inventory of my domains, did a price check and I've already started my first domain transfer.

I just remembered you mentioned that you had a referral code. Feel free to send my way as I'll be continue to transfer other domains as they come up for renewal. I have too many domains to pay for transfers/renewals all at once.

I have had 2FA on my GoDaddy account since it was available so it should be relatively safe for now.

@developerjustin well, so this is interesting. Hover is just providing domains through Tucows, Inc. Talk about bringing back memories. I haven't used their services in like 20 years.
@developerjustin well, so I had a couple of domain names registered with Cloudflare. I decided to do some pricing out over there and to my shock I can save over $100/yr by switching to Cloudflare over Hover, and save over $175 switching to Cloudflare over my current domain provider GoDaddy. Cloudflare doesn't support .dev domains so I'll probably transfer that over to Hover since I've already started the transfer of 1 domain. I own like over 20 domain names so that is going to be a nice savings.
@tim hey, that worked out! Glad you were able to see some savings in the end. I’ve never used Cloudflare’s registrar but their DNS and static site hosting have been huge for me so I bet it’s great. Here is that Hover link: https://hover.com/2Bal6AuB
