"Five women political prisoners released from Iranian prisons have said their liberation was a result of the ongoing uprising of the “freedom-loving and brave" Iranians against government “oppression.”
In a statement titled “Day of Freedom is Near”
they expressed hope that “with the continued support of the public and the persistent efforts of the international community, we will soon witness the release of all male and female political prisoners."
News is filtering in that in Iran today, February 16th, the protests, which have never really stopped in the last 154 days, are starting up again, in a big way. Videos are showing big crowds all across the country, all kicking off.
The reason for the mass protests across all regions of Iran today is that February 16th marks 40 days since the Islamic Republic executed two innocent Iranian protestors: Mohammad Mahdi Karami and Mohammad Hosseini.
