Right after HS graduation in 1983 my mom thought my friend and I had roundtrip tickets to Maui. They were one-way. We worked at Mama's Original Maui Pizza in Lahaina to pay for our return airfare.

My friend had sworn off #JuvenileDelinquency and joined a #Pentecostal group. That group hooked him up with a group in Lahaina so we had a cheap place to stay and interesting church services to attend.

In the #Pentecostal church we were expected to give a #Testimony about our depraved life before being #BornAgain. We were in the company of former mobsters and prostitutes. I felt inadequate because I didn't feel born again and in my previous life I was a #Methodist. The congregation was kind and accepting anyway.

Also, in the #Pentecostal or #Holiness church, you could lose your "Born Again" status at a drop of a bucket and start the process all over again until complete nervous breakdown or utter backsliding away from religion happened over a period of sin/saved cycles.

I know very few that just changed denomination franchises after leaving a holiness franchise, not that it doesn't happen.
