I have been on the internet for 24 years and I have never willingly clicked on an ad. Who are the people who do and why do we allow them to use computers?

@lispegistus

So you admit to having unwillingly clicked on an ad?

/cc @_xhr_

@lispegistus There's nothing worse than accidentally clicking an ad lol
@RickiTarr @lispegistus as someone who does Ads for a living, i can confirm, there's nothing worse than people accidentally clicking on ads
@lispegistus It's not a problem of allowing them to use computers, they have no choice but to use them anyway. Try and go live a life in a western country these days without access to a computer and the internet, it's mostly impossible.
Let's not blame the victims of predatory practices on the internet.
@FearThePenguin
Willingly clicking on an obvious ad is not a form of victimization.

@lispegistus

I have been for 25 years, and it happened only once (I still remember it), but it was by mistake…

So, actually, how can they simply exist?

@lispegistus Nice humble-bragging there.

I adblock everything I reasonably can yet I have clicked on ads that were genuinely interesting to me. Come and take my internet license for my own good dear all-knowing totalitarian.
