If a church has enough money to run ads during the Super Bowl?

They have enough to pay taxes.

@flexghost all churches have enough money to pay taxes.
@mtnickerson excellent. Let’s tax all of them!
@mtnickerson @flexghost the problem with absolutist statements, like yours, is they're quite frequently rather inaccurate. There's plenty of churches that don't have enough money to have a permanent meeting location. Plenty that, when things like sewer fees go up, don't have enough money to accommodate the change. There's lots of - particularly rural – churches that just are not flush ...because their congregations members are quite poor.

@ferricoxide @flexghost and? If a church is run like a business, why shouldn’t it be treated like a business? Only profitable businesses (ie churches if treated the same) would be in business which means they would have cash to pay taxes. If they can’t pay, they would go under.

Also, if a person’s god only exists in a particular building on a particular day, that god isn’t very powerful.
