June 2022 --> February 2023. The kid has grown two inches. The trucks have grown even faster.

This is not fine.

@DrTCombs so what, I am supposed to drive a Prius around my farm? Then I need to prove to the government that I am allowed to buy a truck?

@tomw @DrTCombs yes.

Take a look at your license. It has a vehicle class rating on it. You are legally already not permitted to drive certain vehicles.

If you have a job that requires hauling capacity, you can have the needed vehicle after you have learned the appropriate laws, received the relevant training, and passed the necessary tests to have such a license.

@savanni @DrTCombs

Your post was about regular pickup trucks. My job is in software, I just live in a rural area. It is ridiculous to want to put special regulations on vehicles that people need in their everyday life.

@tomw @DrTCombs So, you're straw-manning it. You don't even have a stake in this fight.

How about this, then? They need a pickup on their farm, they can keep it on the farm. *their* convenience and *their* livelihood should not pose a direct threat to everyone else.

@savanni @DrTCombs

No strwman, I live on a farmsite. You however are fairly ignorant of what people use pickup trucks for. Hint, its in the name. You go pick stuff up. Even when I lived in the bay area I needed a pickup truck for gardening supplies and lumber.
