I just found a bunch of surprisingly good pictures from October 2021 on my hard drive that were in the processing queue. The 55-210 can actually sometimes get pictures!
@va2lam that's great! It feels really good when the photos you didn't expect much turned out to be fairly decent
@spqchan also that the return trip to the area was actually pretty disappointing; it was the wrong time of year and there was waist high water to cross... Anyway looking forward to processing the pictures and entering an eBird list.
@va2lam yikes, that sounds cold and miserable. The photos are a nice consolidation. Did you find any good species?
@spqchan it actually wasn't that bad; despite the water coming from a glacier it had been filtered and had gotten pretty warm and it was like 23 degrees (early summer).
Yeah black stilt (super endangered) and spur winged plover: I didn't know I had a picture of that one in the wild. Also South Island pied oystercatcher. And some others too!
@va2lam ooh those are good birds! I love that there are shorebirds with spurs in Australia and NZ! They're really cool
