My Twitter "Mentions" shows a post from Feb. 9 and one from January 6th. Twitter is practically unusable for me now. There is a lot more activity in my account on Mastodon.

@asymco Any thoughts on what to attribute this to?

Twitter has sheer numbers, although I suspect a lot of those are bots or inactive accounts.

Is it something specific about your audience? Twitter’s algorithm burying your tweets in favor of more polarizing fare? Something else?

@jeff everything was fine when I was using Tweetbot. After it was shut down I had to start using Twitter app and it seems brain damaged. On Tweetbot I used to see (a) what people I follow wrote and (b) what people who mentioned me wrote. What I see now is neither (a) nor (b) but what seems random with a dose of pornography or scams. I thought I was doing something wrong as I never used Twitter apps before. But it seems this is quite normal. Ivory is identical experience to what Tweetbot was.

@asymco @jeff Exactly this. It makes you wonder why most people even bother signing up if the experience is based on the native app.
