I feel a sense of dread when I do something outside of my norm on algorithmic services.

Like, if I watch or listen to this weird content, I’m sure to have suggestion repercussions later. Anyone else?

So, #spotify ‘s move here is good, but it’s hiding some real weakness in the entire concept of algorithmic suggestions.

@linux_mclinuxface most definitely can relate to this. Doesn't often stop me from acting out of my norm but I expect to upset my future recommendations. Recommenders are really useful tools but I wish the inputs were more explicit.
@Rob_Russell worse is mental the reverse engineering. Why did I get served right wing content? Oh yeah, I hate read something someone wrote 🙄
@linux_mclinuxface oh yeah! That is actually something I purposely avoid because of what the recommender will do. So it does change my behaviour. Maybe that's an unexpected upside though 🤣
@linux_mclinuxface I would say roughly 10% of my google searches are incognito
