Honest question: Is defense the only strategy that we can take here?

I had the notion of - and I hate to accuse the source with having anything like a good idea - but "Flood the zone with shit" applied to feeding ad services with useless data via mods and apps.

It would need a lot of participation to do much of anything and I'm probably misunderstanding how they work to begin with, but it seems woth consideration.
