#minecraft why do I need java or bedrock and both are not compatible?
Why do I need a “nintendo online pass” if I want to join a server on my Nintendo Switch?
I have a router that makes my internet.

I hate the minecraft login experience. It’s everything I hate about big corporations.

@fuchsi Bedrock & Java are different versions of the game. Java is the original one, Bedrock was originally made for mobile/consoles, but now also available on Windows.

When you buy Minecraft, you get both. They're unfortunately not compatible.

For the Nintendo Online thing: That's unfortunately Nintendo rules. :(

@ThomasToSpace I tried getting the other version some months ago. It was not possible. Did they make it easier?

@fuchsi On what platform did you try it?

On Windows, make sure you have the newest Minecraft launcher: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download

Install it, and log in with your Microsoft account.

On the left side, you'll find Java as 'Minecraft: Java Edition' and Bedrock as 'Minecraft for Windows'.

@ThomasToSpace I am actually using CurseForge because the normal launcher didn’t work.
It had me astonished that you could fuck up so much stuff with one launcher. And then it told me it wanted me to install all that xBox crap, that I never will use and that’s totally useless for the game. And it didn’t solve my problem that time.
