Congrats to my neighbors at Avalanche Software for the successful launch of Hogwarts Legacy!
@snazzyq ah, the famous brick & mortar
@snazzyq The antisemitic game from a bigot’s IP?
@avakining @snazzyq Yeah the game is not antisemitic but ok
@snazzyq so in theory if you were to find a bug in the game you can literally walk the console over there to ask them to fix it, à la Eddy Cue with Craig Federighi for Mac issues.
@snazzyq didn't expect transphobic dogwhistling from you, sad

@kenzie @snazzyq So your rationale for calling this homophobic dog whistling is that he used the word “Hogwarts” in a sentence, and it’s a fictional place in the book series Harry Potter which is written by J.K Rowling, who’s a homophobe?

This is a Wendy’s.

@EshuMarneedi publicly endorsing a bunch of transphobes is generally a way of showing that you are also part of that group. doing it in a way where you use weasel words and euphemism is what makes it a dog whistle. hope this helps!! :-)
@kenzie @EshuMarneedi @kenzie @EshuMarneedi I think it’s unfair to classify an entire game development company with a license to one of the most popular franchises in the world “a bunch of transphobes.” Rowling is. She sucks. Doesn’t mean everyone else involved is bad.

@snazzyq @kenzie @EshuMarneedi Given that the game is “blood libel but it’s magical totally-not-jews instead of real jews, it’s ok”… I’m down to assume the worst about everyone that worked on, plays, or supports the game (or franchise tbh) in any way.

The literal least people could do as self-proclaimed allies is *not* play the antisemitic game whose profits will go towards literal genocide…
