There are 193 member nations in the United Nations.

All but 11 guarantee some form of paid sick leave.

Guess what? The U.S. is one of those 11.

As a result, 33 million American workers have no paid sick leave from their employer.

This is deeply inhumane. Paid leave. Now.

@rbreich

The U.S. is one of the most inhumane countries in the world. We can't even have universal healthcare; why on earth do you think the oligarchs would allow us to have paid sick leave?

@rbreich

Even if the middle class has access to healthcare, we are not allowed to use our healthcare as the fountain of youth. Imagine, someone needing a life-saving procedure is put on hold because some rich a-hole is tying up hospital resources in search of eternal life.

As basic health care grows unaffordable, the rich seek eternal youth

A record number of Americans say they can't afford necessary health care, while the wealthy drop increasing sums on elaborate out-of-pocket measures.

@rbreich @KathyLK just discovering the US healthcare system (relocating from France): this is an insanely expensive shame.
