My friend Niloufar Bayani, a scientist working in ecology & conservation, was baselessly arrested in Iran. She's now been imprisoned for FIVE YEARS.

I, along with some of our mutual friends from McGill University, wrote an article about Nilou to advocate for her immediate release. Nilou has been caged for far too long, for NOTHING.

@2ck o Amnesty International runs an annual Nowruz action campaign and Nilou is on the list of prisoners for the 2023 action. @danhoops I think I understand. This calls attention to their situations both so more people are aware and potentially to build political pressure to release them while also expressing solidarity and concern which may be seen by the prisoners themselves or their close connections.
