The new HomePods sound surprisingly different from the old HomePods.

More on @atpfm later this week!

It baffles me that reviewers said they couldn't really hear a difference.

I don't blame non-audio people for not being able to *describe* the difference very well, but I don't know how someone could A/B-test them and not notice a clear difference.

My guess is that anyone who says they don't notice a difference didn't really set up an A/B test.

Even my informal, relatively uncontrolled kitchen-counter test reveals clear, obvious differences.

Anyway, more on @atpfm this week!

@marcoarment @atpfm Most baffling in your kitchen counter setup to me is, that your water kettle has *8* Buttons. Suggestion for an atp side topic.
@seiz Cuisinart kettle with different temperatures

@Alexmak @seiz ... but do you really need more than "boil"?

I don't, but maybe my water needs are more pedestrian 😉

@billvinson @seiz some people believe different types of tea of coffee need to be brewed at various temperatures to get the best taste.

@Alexmak @seiz Fair, I guess. I was joking, but honestly can't imagine needing different temps of hot water. However, I'm not a tea drinker and only consume coffee or hot cocoa, so I'll leave it to others to determine their need.

Thanks for the explanation though as that honestly didn't occur to me as I thought all tea just steeped in boiling water.

@billvinson @Alexmak @seiz green tea is ideally brewed at ~190° F
@Berryhill @Alexmak @seiz I wouldn't have thought those ~20° F would've made that much of a difference, but I guess it must impact the flavor.
