All day I've been hearing the evocative call of Sandhill Cranes far overhead. This was almost a constant accompaniment on my bike ride on this beautiful, clear 62ºF day. (NWS sez: warmest day since November 9th.)

They are gathering to head back north to nest. They will be pretty much gone by the end of the month, so I better enjoy this while I can.

@bosquebill @douglasvb My family visited Sauvie’s Island yesterday and saw flocks of Sandhill Cranes flying in. They joined flocks of tundra swans, snow geese, canada geese and a gazillion ducks too small and far away for me to identify.
