You don't need to buy the obvious reality that Trump is compromised by his affection for and obligation to Putin to recognize that the GOP is a Putin-ist party. They want Putin to win in Ukraine. And they want their own Putin in America.

The Ukraine Crackup in the G.O.P.

Susan B. Glasser writes about how Republicans, including Donald Trump, aren’t united with one another on Russia’s war in Ukraine, never mind with Joe Biden.

The New Yorker
Have to say I'm encouraged how even after Republicans cheering on a year of Putin's systematic raping and pillaging, most Americans still recognize evil.
@lolgop Unfortunately tho, that’s still a shitload of Americans.
@Ben_Steiner @lolgop 27% of Americans will knowingly take the wrong side of every issue out of spite. That's about as good as it's going to get. I always assume 70% approval to be 100% of normal people.

@lolgop

Yep. Just wish the pro Russian caucus in the GOP reaped more consequences for their complicity.

@lolgop
I think the simple framing Ukraine / Zelenskyy use is very effective: To those advocating peace talks, tell me which parts of your country you'd be willing to give up in exchange for peace.
@ScottSoCal @lolgop This isn't the own you think it is because everyone can snap off a state before you even finish the question.
@smn @lolgop
Then they're not thinking it through. Every red state has decent people in it - are we going to sacrifice them?
I won't.
@lolgop Would it be too far out to say that most #Americans are just too smart for the repulsive, reprehensible #Republicans?
