I liked the algorithmic timeline of Twitter, I liked the email reminders "You might have missed …"
Is anyone working on an algorithmic timeline of sorts for Mastodon? That should be possible for those who want it, right?

@below We really used Twitter very differently. I never used the official app (because it was garbage), I only used Tweetbot. As far as I can tell, most people are *glad* there's no algorithmic timeline here...I guess mostly because if there is an algorithm choosing content for you, it's not transparent on what criteria that happens and depending on the agenda of the person in charge of the algorithm it can lean towards this content or that content.

@below It would have to be done on the client end because the Mastodon creators have said they will never make something like that for the server side.

I wouldn’t bet on it ever happening.

@below I do miss the emails about what I might have missed, they were useful. I didn’t really use the algorithmic timeline, mostly just “current” plus notifications for a handful of people and orgs.
