The fun of being a traditionally published author. Every week I get to load up BookScan, which is essentially one company’s (NPD) guess at how many books I sold the previous week, based on...well, nobody knows really. It doesn’t include ebooks, which is the bulk of my sales, so instead I just get to laugh bitterly. And yet, for some reason, I still do it every week! Masochism may be a key author trait.
@dmoren Dan, I just picked up your book The Caledonian Gambit yesterday from a recommendation right here on Mastodon… there’s at least one Kindle stat for your Friday morning! :-)
@rohdesign Woo hoo! It's working! Thanks. ;)
@dmoren I’m glad I discovered your book series. I can only read The Expanse series over again so many times! BTW been following you a long time in the Mac space with no idea you also wrote fiction!
@rohdesign @dmoren worlds colliding! Hi Mike! Hi Dan! Mike, all of Dan’s stuff is great! Also, try Braking Day by Adam Oyebanji.
@kevinfarner @dmoren Hey, Kev! Started the book last night and I’m already hooked, Dan!
@rohdesign @dmoren Dan is a part of the Incomparable podcast network (I’m a member!) and right around the time each book comes out Jason Snell interviews Dan about the writing process. Very fun, interesting episodes.
