@robshum I don't think it's the right analysis. Popular opinion in Germany is way more pro-Ukraine than state action. Scholz wants to make sure he does the least of major NATO leaders not because Germany is worried about its past but because a handful of old party and business elites got used to doing business with Russia and enjoy vice-signaling on gas deals. It's the same story for tank deliveries and for gas sanctions.
