It’s just a rant but I’m so sick of talking heads telling us ‘the proof is in the pudding’, it’s not, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. It’s annoying

@someguyhooper On the one hand, that's a prescriptivist attitude for a saying in a language not well suited to prescriptivism. Lots of sayings started out as manglings of other sayings, but became popular enough to be effectively correct in their own right.

On the other hand, you are absolutely right and it's super annoying. >:(
