The earliest #CarrotCake (CC) recipes were akin to little #CrabCakes - made w/ carrots, flour, & butter.
A 1913 article raved:
"The little #Carrot, of the plebeian #Vegetable family, moved high last week in the social
scale & ... stores ran out entirely.
Miss Lilla Frich (Home Economist)... [tells] how carrot #Pulp makes a good egg substitute in [cakes] & hundreds of women... have been buying them."
