@NWBylines @mikegalsworthy MP pay review time again, is it?
*stares at the chart*
@sallonoroff @NWBylines @mikegalsworthy Absolutely outrageous, isn’t it?
@sonofgroucho The difference is scandalous, but given all the scandalous things they get away with anyway this will never register.
@sallonoroff @NWBylines @mikegalsworthy Yes, it is time. I recommend a reduction to £40,000.

@bhawthorne @sallonoroff @NWBylines @mikegalsworthy the argument for paying them more is to make them less susceptible to corruption.

Clearly that is not working.

It may not be possible or perhaps even desirable to completely prevent them having outside employment or other income, but that employment and income should be taxed at 95%.

@sallonoroff @NWBylines @mikegalsworthy To be fair if they didn't increase their pay they wouldn't be able to attract towering intellects and supreme talents like Johnathan Gullis or 30p Lee. Then where would we be?!

#GTTO

@sallonoroff @NWBylines @mikegalsworthy we really are being taken for mugs aren’t we
@GKM Certainly looks that way to me.
@sallonoroff @NWBylines @mikegalsworthy How else would they be able to afford £840 per roll wallpaper??

This chart is very informative... The job I'm doing now was near median back in 2010 but is now near minimum wage in 2023. I work in the public sector.
