Good morning to all. I’d like to invite you to write more on your blog — by letting yourself write less. https://mattgemmell.scot/write-less/
Trouble With Writing Podcast — Matt Gemmell

A podcast about writing novels

Matt Gemmell
@mattgemmell This hits very close to home, looking at the various drafts in my note app of choice. Thank you. I too shall let myself do that.
@mattgemmell Good call. I used to have a section on my site called Shorts - which were just short notes - links to things i found interesting, comments on events etc. Social media arrived and replaced that need, so i ditched that part of my site. It was a good little potted history of stuff - mainly so I could find things! I might well resurrect that – thanks to your post!

@mattgemmell two interesting points that came in mind.

  • Seth godin's blog is perfect example of writing consistently even if its small.

  • I have personally found a mid way. I use a selfhosted fediverse software. Gotosocial and host it on a subdomain of my own website. Now i write stuff on it short or long and any post of mine on that is also like a miniblog of my own. That could be another mid point people can do.

  • @anant That's basically what micro.blog is, which also participates in the fediverse. And yes, Godin's blog was an inspiration back in the day.

@mattgemmell @julian This is absolutely the biggest difference in the way I used to blog in 2003 and the way I blog now.

    Thanks for the reminder.
