I use / own one for larger cine camera setups.

Often, when you think you need one, you don't and they can introduce their own problems. But when you can take advantage of them, they are unique.

They do require some setup and understanding, but you get used to it with practice.

I think it comes down to how often you will use it and does it actually solve a problem you have.
