Boundary Waters officially safe from mining for next 20 years
The Biden administration announced a 20-year ban on mining next to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, part of the ancestral home of the Ojibwe people and a landscape rich with wildlife habitat and cherished outdoor recreation areas. Last year, more than 250,000 people registered support for the moratorium during a public comment period.
