NS: Shorter wait times, better care, and giving health professionals more time with patients are some of the ways that One Person One Record can help improve healthcare in Nova Scotia.
@mattdagley On paper it works out, but yet, two months, 60 days, One of Halifax's emerg depts is closed continuously. The EHS accessing records won't change that. EHS speed won't increase. Lite flight promises won't change the waiting time in Cobequid Emerg because that's all we have.. that and #TimHoustonNS promises. Nothing in all these recommended changes has shown any improvement, services have further declined. I see this as political padding.
@Rasta @mattdagley Me and my husband have been waiting YEARS for a family Dr, my husband suffered a stroke 1 1/2 years ago and it’s been really difficult with NO primary care. I know we’re not the only ones who are so sick and tired of paying some of the HIGHEST taxes in Canada for little to no service. Time for a tax break so perhaps we can at least afford to eat healthy and or gas to make the rounds to find a walk in clinic with an open appointment if you’re lucky….end rant
@Michelle I can't believe it either, everything we pay taxes for, receives no ROI (Return on Investment) I've done nothing to my home. #Halifax property taxes are going up, but before they do, they reassess my home to current crazy markets, so that increase in taxes will be huge, as if I lived in a modern mansion. We've had no improvement just several bad spending habits of Council. Their mistakes cost us, not improvements. Could you imagine if we were paying for a Stadium too? And no NS HC?
@Michelle #healthcare, the direct responsibility of #TimHoustonNS , we see CON Premiers try to pass some their duties to private, without a cut in pay? If they don't do their job & pass the buck, why are they paid to be Premier? It's their inability to govern, that put us in this mess. There's no guarantee of keeping a family doctor. My mum lost her family doctor to retirement! Private has doctors/nurses, but people we've paid handsomely for this service, want to be paid, w.o doing their job.
@Rasta I hope your Mum finds a Dr soon, for the elderly and chronically ill no primary care can have serious consequences. Preventive health care is very difficult without a primary provider, I’m turning 60 this year and have a family history of diabetes and cardiovascular disease, I’ll do everything I can to stay healthy however with no consistent screenings and guidance it’s hard not to feel a little lost
@Michelle When you have care , it's great but it's not because of any Government that I have a doctor, it's because I'm determined and apparently lucky, what I have, I got without #TimHoustonNS and you won't get one, because of him. My minor surgery got an after-care call today, to see how I was feeling. Pretty good to know someone follows up and is concerned about my health. The Premier is NOT concerned. He endures no hardship as a result of his bad healthcare situation
