Ordered some #pcb boards from jlcpcb - now eagerly awaiting their arrival .
Would really prefer to use European services instead , but #eurocircuits are 2x the cost :-/

@tinkerworm The price difference makes it really hard. Just checked my last design, and it was 10x more expensive at eurocircuits!

@johanneshoff to be fair you need to try quotes for lead free PCBs . They are always more expensive .
I know how bad China is, from my day job in security . So I always feel bad

@tinkerworm I actually ordered lead free from JLCPCB. I think it was $1.10 for my order, so not bad.

But I'm sure there are some not-too-nice reasons why it's so cheap. In a way, it feels like it should cost 2-5x more.

@johanneshoff I ordered assembly service , because it’s a bunch of boards with 256leds each . SMD. Can’t solder that by hand . Times 6

@tinkerworm Nice! So an LED-matrix, presumably with control logic on the other side? Hope they get the direction of the diodes right 😄

@johanneshoff haha, yes, drivers are on the opposite side. I did triple check LEDs direction. They should be right, but proof will be in the pudding
