For like a year, I've been saying I won't buy yet another $75 font that I will only use in my terminal/IDE, when I already have so many other lovely monospaced fonts that I've spent many hundreds of dollars on over time. And then they had to bring out ligatures. Well done Berkeley Graphics. You just got my $75 https://berkeleygraphics.com/public-affairs/bulletins/BT-002/

@film_girl about to make a joke but your fonts have better odds have being used in your terminal than my unused domain names coming up for renewal.
@film_girl So what’s the most impressive ‘code review/demo in Zoom’ font that you’ve run across?
@mkellis one of my all time favorite is Cartograph. So pretty. Especially for demos.
@film_girl I’ve already bought one font for my IDE, Comic Code. I can’t do another (tho I want to) but hooray for having options!
@miguel oh comic code — is that like comic sans mono?
@film_girl yeah basically. It’s cute! https://tosche.net/fonts/comic-code

@miguel neat! I’ve seen a few variations on this idea over the years and I love it, even tho it feels like sacrilege.
@film_girl with this, sacrilege is kinda fun! haha.
@film_girl Dank Mono Stan, reporting for duty! 🫡
@jonathan huge fan of that one! I also just dropped $200 on the new version of monolisa.dev that I didn't realize had dropped. So good font day for me today.
@film_girl welp, there goes more of my money! 😎
@film_girl oh come on Christina why? I’ve been so happy with Hack and Jet Brains Mono but look at this beautiful fucking font.
@jsonbecker I KNOW. I finally caved today. No regrets
@film_girl You buy monospaced fonts? You’re a better person than me.
@fletch1 I buy far too many fonts of all types but mostly monospaced.
@film_girl oh my god it's gorgeous

@film_girl 😶

I gave it a quick spin. I love it, but also wish it had a medium weight.

I have xcode setup to vary between regular, medium, and bold for different text types.

Left comments + doc blocks at Helvetica Neueu though

@film_girl I would love a list of your fonts. I don’t know much about fonts but I’m super picky about them and always looking for new ones.
@shantini plz check your iMessage soon
@film_girl I've been using it for a month and really loving it.
@film_girl dagnammit, now I bought a font I don’t need
@film_girl I have spent a surprising amount on dumb font purchases over the years, but Dank Mono has really won my heart over for the last several years.
@film_girl That is a very nice-looking font! Modern but with a delightful retro vibe.

@film_girl Have you checked out MonoLisa, absolutely fantastic for code editors/terminal?! Added bonus is that the characters are wider so easier to read with astigmatism.

MonoLisa

A font family designed for software developers. Font follows function.

@karim I have! In fact, I wanted to compare it to Berkeley Mono and I went to the website to download it, saw a new version was released and somehow wound up spending $200 to upgrade hehe

@film_girl Haha, how dare they! To be fair a font is something that you look at for hours a day, so has to work for you.

Same goes for colour schemes and I took far too long testing pretty much every single one until I happily found Catppuccin.

@karim oh, they would’ve let me continue using the old version but the new one had some great features. Can you link me to that color scheme?

@karim @film_girl thanks for sharing both of these. I bought MonoLisa and so far I love it. I'm still contemplating Berkeley Mono.
