I live on a rural road but found out in Sept 2022 fiber internet was plumbed to a network box two houses away from me. I asked a technician working if I could get fiber at home from it, he said he'd put in the request.

I've called the company every month since begging them to install it. Today I got a call from a special projects guy there responding to a Sept request and I could likely get fiber this week, 10x the speed at 1/2 the cost I currently pay.

I currently have a point-to-point dedicated wireless connection with a local ISP that I only got on my sixth or seventh call into their sales team, because I uttered the words "wireless broadband backhaul connection" and they suddenly perked up and said yes, there was a faster option beyond 20Mbps down/2Mbps up rural DSL.

Magic words and phrases can open many doors.
