My daughter told me today she no longer tidies her room, instead she 'resets' it to tidy each Sunday for the week ahead . She said mentally this helps because tidy sounds such a chore while reset doesn't, and the thought that there's a weekly reset means she doesn't feel bad if the room gets messy in the week, because she'll reset on Sunday!
Anyway I thought it was cute and might be useful for someone

@Tattooed_mummy honestly that's how I approach washing the dishes--I "reset" the sink and draining board every evening when I make the cats' dinner, by rinsing and putting dishes in the dishwasher, hand-washing the stuff that needs hand-washing, washing the cat bowls that have been soaking for prepping their breakfast in the morning, giving the sink a quick soap-and-water wash, and wiping down the counters. more stuff might accumulate after that, but I don't worry about it--I'll take care of it when I do the reset at catdinnertime!
