The very first scene of #TheAmberSpyglass in sign language; not in the books, but beautifully done. #HisDarkMaterials
OK, they're changing *quite a lot* now, and the Gallivespians look...so stupid. Not sure about that episode. #Episode2 #HisDarkMaterials @darkmaterials #TheAmberSpyglass
#HisDarkMaterials #Episode4 was outstandingly well done. The separation and the entry into the land of the dead was brutal... #TheAmberSpyglass
It's a change to the books (I think) but devoting almost an entire episode to misunderstanding why Lyra was in the land of the dead was a masterstroke. That was an extraordinary episode. ✨ #HisDarkMaterials #Episode6 #TheAmberSpyglass @darkmaterials
So much brilliance in that episode, but seeing Will's cat daemon... 🥹😭 #HisDarkMaterials #Episode7 #TheAmberSpyglass @darkmaterials
I thought The Amber Spyglass would be impossible to realise on TV, but I was wrong. The strongest series of the three; what a brave & brilliant adaptation of @PhilipPullman's seminal trilogy. ✍️ #HisDarkMaterials #Episode8 #TheAmberSpyglass @darkmaterials
P.S. By way of apology for talking over @Lornebalfe's music at the end of the final episode, the BBC should commit to making the #TheBookOfDust. That might just about make up for such a terrible sin. #HisDarkMaterials #BookOfDust @darkmaterials
@RobJFH I thought the same thing and was amazed at how well they matched what I had envisioned reading it.
@mjgustavson It didn't match my reading, and there were actually quite a few plot changes (most of which worked and didn't undermine the main story arc anyway). It was different to how I imagined in many, many ways...but still very good. And I can't expect my imagining of it to be the same as anyone else's anyway.
