I wonder what #NationalCabinet will put forward to fix the #healthcare system? It's very concerning to watch GP's who have long supported #bulkBilling, abandon is entirely with fees coming in, enough to make old Tony Abbott's $5 co-payment look generous

My hopes are in Labor standing strong on #Medicare, with their power there Federally and through a majority of the states, they can show if "it's time" #auspol #albo

What's at play and what's at stake as states and territories push for Medicare funding overhaul?

Amid warnings that bulk-billing could become a thing of the past, states and territories are set to meet the federal government for healthcare reform talks.

@dean

The problem is they operate under the neoliberal fallacy that the federal govt is fiscally constrained like a household. So all of their "solutions" will be compromised by market driven approaches and privatisation. They will refuse to spend what will be required to fix the mess.

@dallas #Labor do it differently to the Coalition — such as in my state #Victoria, Dan Andrews and bringing back the SEC so the state can take control of the energy mix as we transition towards renewables

Or heck, the introduction of Medibank, followed by the reintroduction of it as Medicare after Fraser privatised it. A little private involvement isn't a bad thing if capital isn't unbridled
