How it started, etc.

I'm not entirely happy with the edges - some touching up may be in order.

But even so, it looks so much better now.

There is an old road sign on Belmont Road, Abergavenny. Old, and rusty, and not even that easy to read. It was worse, it was covered in ivy,...

@revk That looks great! How much effort was it to get approval from the council? The sign at the end of our road is not as bad (or as nice) but would benefit from repainting.

@bencc I emailed them and they were more than happy to let me sort it. They were slow to reply but no hassle. They said the alternative was they put in a modern road sign on posts.

@bencc yeh, heating the bat cave to a temperature to allow paint to dry was not cheap!
