Second puzzle from Magic Puzzle Company Series 2 finally complete. This one took us a bit longer because we haven’t had much time to sit down with it. We can usually knock one of these out over a long weekend.

We just finished The Crystal Caves (the fifth of their puzzles we’ve done), which was a little harder to get into this time. But it got more interesting as we got halfway into it.

I particularly like how the artwork has clues (colors, textures, characters) that hint at where a piece might go. And it comes with a full-frame poster of the entire puzzle (at least for the 1st phase). So our kids can sit down with us, connect a few pieces right away, and feel success.

@stop I have the Sunny City and was never able to finish it. Super hard. Felt like some pieces were cut wrong but then it also seemed like some we super similar and perhaps I had them in the wrong spots. 😕

@philcoffman Our first time felt similar too. We struggled, and thought we were missing pieces. Because of the way they craft it in two phases, what you think is an outside edge piece may actually go on the inside.

@stop yep that’s what we encountered. I need to get it back out but I also need a proper workspace where it can live for awhile, which means either rearranging furniture or a new house and well now you know my other dilemma 😂

@stop Didn’t even realize they released the Series 2! We’ve been (slowly) working our way through Series 1, fun to finish but then it feels wrong to frame it after.

@sepcot Nice. I didn’t realize they had sold out of some. At times, we’ve thought about selling ours after completing each one. But would probably rather loan them out and potentially get them back.
