I was thinking about opening this kind of commissions when I open my store. Does anyone know some strong cardboard packaging so my drawings don't bend during shipping? It's my main problem right now 😅

(By the way, the process of the orange cat drawing is on my Patreon too 😗 🎶)

@teresa_arroyo Very good-looking drawings 👍
Here when I ship artworks (rare, and only for presents) I usually put them into A4 cheap plastic protection (I don't have the exact word for the vocabulary, but they are the one used by students to put photocopies of their courses into ring binders; I just cut the part adapted to the rings). To strengthen the things, I collect cardboard sheet from packages and I put one at the back of the drawing. This way it's protected against wetness and folds.
@davidrevoy Thanks! And what beautiful drawings you have (follow)
I've made similar things for gifts too ☺ Now I have to look for already-made alternatives.
@teresa_arroyo you can find cardboard backed envelopes to mail your drawings ✉️
@sadedoes Yes, I bought some of those at the post office, but they weren't as strong as I expected 😅
@teresa_arroyo maybe adding an extra layer of cardboard would help?
@teresa_arroyo I get rigid mailers from Eco Enclose - all their products are made of as much post consumer waste as possible.
@inherentlee Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! 🙏

@teresa_arroyo I haven't tried it, but I once thought of poking wooden skewer sticks into the folds of cardboard to strengthen it against bending. If you have two cardboard pieces, rotated 90° from each other, so the skewers form a # inside the package, it would (theoretically) protect whatever's between them from being bent on both axis.

I haven't tried it, though!!

@Rheall Wow, sounds like a good method. At the moment I was looking for rigid cardboard envelopes, but I will keep this system in mind just in case 👍
I've already found a couple of Amazon cardboard envelopes squeezed into my mailbox 😖 I want to avoid that.

I love these! Thank you for sharing that they are on Patreon!

@7thDayHeathen I always share my drawings publicly. Patreon is where I post the step-by-step of some works and where I talk about the references and materials I use 🙂
