This is the most-read story on the Washington Post?
(I'll save you the click. It was Rao's. Haven't tried it but I was underwhelmed by their frozen chicken parm.)
@jeffjarvis If I buy a jar of sauce, I purchase Newman’s Own. They have quality products and 100% of profits goes to charities.
@jeffjarvis we like Costco’s house brand quite a bit.
@jeffjarvis I'd skim an article like that when I'm in the supermarket, confronted with a wall of pasta sauces.
@jeffjarvis Headlines like that should be a firing offense in serious publications.
@jeffjarvis I bought a jar when there was some huge markdown and it was really good but I don't think it was better enough than the other usually much cheaper brands to justify normally paying double or more
@jeffjarvis damn Rao's always wins despite being unspectacular I am convinced they secretly bribe judges
@jeffjarvis Rao’s is very good. It’s the Washington Post that I’m worried about.
@dankennedy_nu @jeffjarvis I mean, who do they think they are? The Wirecutter? That's the NY Times!
@jeffjarvis It is quite good though. I get it at Costco.
@jeffjarvis Besides, after eating various Tomato sauces by Thrive Market,, I'm never buying any other brands again. They're almost as good as my home-made sauces. If I don't have the time to make my own, I'll happily use those.
@jeffjarvis Their pizza sauce is good.
@jeffjarvis my wife and I swear by Rao’s sauces. We always have the marinara and bolognese on hand at home.
