Castle Hill, Huddersfield. Iron Age Brigantine hillfort, Norman castle, medieval village and a Victorian tower.

It is home to numerous legends. The devil is said to have made a great leap here from Netherton Scar. A dragon guards its hoard in the hill and a golden cradle is reputed to be hidden in the ditches.

Camulodunum to the Romans. Wormcliffe in the early medieval period. Dark deeds were committed in the dungeon of the castle.

@DarkGalloway Fabulous light! 😊😊
@HawkinsWeeks Thank you very much.
@DarkGalloway Ah, with that quality of work, the pleasure was all mine 😊😊
@HawkinsWeeks Your kind comments are always appreciated.

@DarkGalloway you can't say "dark deeds" and nothing more...

Was it merely developing the negatives of your fantastic picture, or something involving pain and demonic laughter?

@JohnEvans The 500 character limit doesn't do the masses of history and folklore attached to Castle Hill justice! Here is something fuller that I wrote quite a few years ago now, which explains the dark doings at the de Lacy's castle.
