While a whole load of who knows who they are folks all bloviating about ‘gun rights,’ attributing gun violence to ‘urban crime,’ and declaring that gun regulation ‘doesn’t work,’ here are the numbers — deaths by gunfire per 100,000 population, ranked.

Notice a pattern? The deadliest states are primarily rural and ‘conservative’; the least deadly are primarily urban, ‘liberal’ and have the strictest gun regulation our courts currently allow.

@Heimdall

The people who fight against passing gun laws are morally dead.

@HopeVanDyne @Heimdall depends...

Maybe some people acknowledge that it's not a legislative but cultural issue caused by irresponsible handling of public comms and media supporting said #StochasticTerrorsm by spreading the #ProtpagandaOfTheDeed?

Cut that's what most mass media do there...

Needless to say that the USA doesn't even have the highest density of [il-]legal guns per capita and that restrictions can, have and will only be flexed against marginalized.

How the American Media Fuels A Cycle of Violence

YouTube

@kkarhan @HopeVanDyne @Heimdall

It's the guns🤦‍♀️

@MysticaRose @HopeVanDyne @Heimdall it's obviously not.

Otherwise places with a similar if not higher density of guns like Switzerlamd, Serbia ans Slovenia would have the same amount of advanced auicides per capita.

Spoiler: They don't.

not eben.Germany comes close and it has the biggest black market per capita with >40M guns in circulation.

So it obviously can't be guns.

@MysticaRose @HopeVanDyne @Heimdall

After all, guns themselves are inanimate objects that bave neither will nor intent.
Even if you have a machine gun set to full auto it won't harm anyone on it's own.

There's always SOMEONE who's pointing it AND pulling the trigger.
Otherwise we'd not jail said actor for their actions but the weapon!

Same goes for everything else.
Thus you should rather be in favour of banning people, as this would logically solve all violence.

@MysticaRose @HopeVanDyne @Heimdall

But we both know that we can't ban people and you obviously are unwilling to accept the inconvenient truth...

So go get lost and insult someone elses' intellect.

@kkarhan @HopeVanDyne @Heimdall

The inconvenient truth is that you a no critical thinking skills 🤣

If PEOPLE are the PROBLEM, why do you want to give the PROBLEM a GUN🤦‍♀️ Those kill people. Gun control WORKS INCREDIBLY WELL in EVERY OTHER COUNTRY ON THE PLANET.

ITS THE GUNS🤦‍♀️

@MysticaRose @HopeVanDyne @Heimdall I habe and the fact is that no nation comes close to the USA when it comes to "advanced suicides" per capita & guns.

You just ignore this fact and deny tue inconvenient truth that the Media has a responsibility, because that would shatter your worldview.

Kevin Karhan :verified: (@[email protected])

@[email protected] @[email protected] the sheer unwillingness to acknowledge the media's responsibility is just shocking. After all, the sheer existance of guns doesn't make a place less safe - nor does a formally lower gun density automatically reduce violence (i.e. Somalia, Philippines). Because the #InconvenientTruth is that guns on their own are non-sentient metal & plastics/wood. https://mstdn.social/@kkarhan/109752171388833105
