This was the first attempt to mimic a 2D #cartoon I did years back. This was #Cybersix done in #blender . Took me ages and my workflow is much different now, but got me started with this practice.

Here is the full model with a base I made.
@maxlundberg Haha I stumbled onto Cybersix while browsing random animation on Amazon a while ago. What a bizarre and unique piece of art, filled with deeply confusing production decisions...
@mrc2 It's great to hear that it's on Amazon. I grew up with it probably airing here in Canada on teletoon when I was about 11 or 12. Do you have an example of confusion production decisions? Seeing why things fail is often as fascinating as why they succeed.

@maxlundberg This is a great deep dive into the production and the original source material: https://youtu.be/-DAN2VJKa_k

I found it fascinating because a) it looks to have a significantly higher animation budget than anything else around that time, b) the audio mixing is absolutely bonkers (a constantly lilting assault on the ears sometimes), and c) much of the dialog feels like drunk Google Translate.

Can't fault that character design though. Whole show looks great for 90s kids TV.

The trans antifascist superheroine you've never heard of.

@maxlundberg wow, this is just gorgeous!

@maxlundberg pretty well executed modelling.

  • Espechally given you propably only had the Anime as source material.

Only needs bones, physics and cloth properties and you could basically animate #CyberSix in #blender.

  • Tho I'm not shure re: rigging and animation. AFAIK one can combine blender with #Moho for ease of use.
    • @fuchsiii did exactly that and was pleasantly surprised that this allowed her to do the animation and rigging in Moho and do the actual render in Blender...
@maxlundberg Very faithful recreation - indeed!
