Let’s be clear: If we allow a former president to completely avoid accountability for inciting an insurrection against the U.S. government, we will be inviting it to happen all over again.

Prosecute Donald Trump.

@rbreich absolutely prosecute DJT
@rbreich just as Leona Helmsley observed that only the “little people” pay taxes, serving time is reserved just for the masses.
@rbreich If Trump isn’t indicted for his crimes, he will succeed the next time as his acolytes are all in place, a Deep State in waiting.
@rbreich yes, there is an argument for excusing the followers, but certainly not the leaders and inciters
@rbreich let's be even clearer. The fact that a man who caused an insurrection is walking free, shows the criminals are in charge and the us is not a democracy but has been taken hostage in entirety by a criminal gang
@ayarocks @rbreich It’s infuriating isn’t it? Our system of laws has failed!
@Doreen32128 @rbreich laws are written by those in power. To say something 'is the law!' Doesn't meant the laws is moral or good. We've been brainwashed to think 'the law' is the epitome of good and has to be followed. Nuremberg laws were laws for eg - horrific laws. Human beings need to know that 'law' doesn't mean anything but power. This isn't what's happening. I hate myself for being to be too scared to not follow immoral@laws
@rbreich The fact that it has been more than 2 YEARS since Jan 6th and he has zero indictments yet for attempting to overthrow the election just shows how morally bankrupt our Justice system is. The rich and powerful either break the law with impunity or delay justice so long that by the time they are held accountable it is hardly relevant anymore.
@rbreich The US has a history of failing to prosecute presidents for their crimes, e.g. Richard Nixon (Watergate), Ronald Reagan (Iran-Contra) and George Bush (Iraq War). Each time the threat to America's democracy increases. If inciting an actual insurrection goes unpunished it's pretty much game over for the republic.
@rbreich every elected democrat needs to be asked what they are doing to get Garland to do his job every time they are interviewed for anything. Media wants drama and excitement? Let’s make it happen!
@twitterreject @rbreich it is not the job, nor should it be, for politicians(unless it was a bipartisan inquiry, which will never happen). They are separate for a reason. Our media, and the public should be the ones asking about progress on the case directly.
@suefinchphotography @rbreich I agree but until we have direct access to AG and the doj, our elected officials need to do our bidding for us. They are supposed to represent us. I see & hear countless complaints & questions about garland and since we can’t directly talk to him, our representatives need to for us.
@suefinchphotography @rbreich garland hides in his office and avoids the public bc he’s a total coward. When he does speak, it’s a scripted speech w/out questioning. He hides behind “we don’t comment on cases” and makes statements to lead us on like he’s gonna prosecute trump, then he ignores him and goes back to going after lower level criminals. He’s done nothing but mislead us and delay. I wish gop in house would impeach him, we just disagree on why
