Hi friends, I was laid off from Google last week and I'm looking for new opportunities. I'd like to find a role where I'm directly working with people to address their infrastructure needs.

A few of the types of problems I'd love to work on:

- building internal platforms
- on-prem/hybrid cloud
- cost optimization
- ops/infra tooling

But I'm also open to many other areas of focus. If you're looking for a senior engineer with an ops/infra focus, please get in touch.

@bleything is this posting the sort of position you’re interested in? https://www.fastly.com/about/jobs/apply/?gh_jid=4800833
Jobs at Fastly | Fastly

We’re always looking for humble, sharp, and creative folks to join the Fastly team. If you think you might be a fit, please apply!

@drbrain sort of? that seems to be looking for someone with a lot of data experience which I don't really have. sounds like interesting problems, though.
@bleything yeah, sorry, I wasn’t sure how good a fit it might be. I think the core of this role would be analyzing our traffic and CPU usage to figure out where and how big to build new POPs
@drbrain yeah that sounds like a super interesting job and something that would be fun to support but I just don't have the background for it. thanks for thinking of me though :)
@bleything You were? Goddamnit.
@bensonk yep :/

@bleything 😠

Please tell me if there's anything I can do. Have you decided what shape you'd like your next role to be?

@bleything we have roles building reusable IaC automation. check out rackn.com
@bleything Our (GitKraken) posts aren't up yet (should be early next week) but we are looking for what sounds like a very similar role(s).
@bleything a lot of opportunity with Hitachi across the whole team of businesses
@bleything well, that role I wanted to get you hired into at Oracle Cloud doesn’t even exist as a team any longer. But I have a few ideas, I’ll look into them.
