This one is for the Americans (or those under the age of 30...) - this is how we experienced Sonic 1 here. Slow speed and slooow music with giant borders.
This is the 50Hz Pal region version. Thankfully every version now is the proper speed 60Hz version.
(But I still love this!)

@2DForever So happy I did my first mod on my old Mega Drive to add the 50/60hz switches, way back in the early 90s. We got proerly shafted with this shit!

@jake I was completely unaware of it until the Saturn era. I added 60hz switch to my Saturn and never went back! It was a real "Oh, this is how it's meant to be" moment

@2DForever I've always had a bit of a dumb theory that Europe took to Sonic 1 more so than Japan and America because Europeans had slightly more time to react to things haha

@danthat It's certainly the chill version! I'm very used to the faster speed now, but I have a lot of nostalgia for this slower version
