With @ivory out today, and folks showing up on Mastodon more and more recently, I’m having strong SXSW-2007-era vibes, and remembering fondly the community and folks I spent so much time “growing up” with in the industry and looking up to. Excited to spend more time here supporting awesome friends as they build things, discuss their passions, or just rant after a long week.
@garrettmurray @ivory I’m having very similar feelings and am quite emotional about how similar this feels. I owe my entire career to the design community I found on MacThemes and Twitter in 2007 onward. Most of my longest friendships and mentors (and even some colleagues) were part of that very special corner of the Internet.
@taylorcarrigan Yes! I remember talking to you in Twitter DMs about this just recently—it’s amazing how nice this place feels right now, and it’s so fun to see folks coming back around who I haven’t connected with in a few years but who were so seminal to my personal and professional growth.
@garrettmurray @ivory yeah, feeling those vibes too.

@garrettmurray Garrett, after seeing you here on Mastodon, I am nostalgic for your podcast from years past. I loved walking my dog and listening to it and may do so again.

Alas, "Maniacal Rage" is less over-the top silliness and now a literal description of too much of social media …

@garrettmurray @ivory @rogie
Well said. As am I. Time to start focusing on the positive and there’s still a lot of good people in the world to talk to 🗣️👋
@garrettmurray yes! It’s been a long minute since I’ve felt this too.
