Everyone going bananas for new Mastodon iOS apps should really check our existing ones like Toot! and Metatext as well. They've been built specifically for Mastodon over many years, and in the case of Toot! even support recent features like editing posts.

Some of the new ones feel very much like alpha products in comparison.

@ben_hr @ajmaus I’m excited to see Ivory released (11+ years as a Tweetbot user, Twitter API rug pull must’ve hurt, and perhaps it will encourage more users to move across and stay) so I’m giving it a try however I also feel a sense of commitment to Toot! having enjoyed using it for some time; the re-commenced/continued development, current features, and one-off purchase price* make a compelling case.

@ben_hr couldn’t disagree more. I’ve tried every iOS mastodon app and all of them feel half-baked and beta quality at best. Ivory ain’t perfect but you can tell it’s been by a team that knows iOS and UI design inside and out.
