@shanselman Don't have diabetes yet WOW!
@shanselman Amazing ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
@shanselman is the pump worn or is it 'installed' like a pacemaker? i see this device referenced but what are the logistics?
@jbminn 99% of them are external, and you (me) install them with a plastic canula and an inserter. Google for "omnipod" to see an example of the one I use. It's installed on me every 80 hours, by me.
@shanselman thanks for responding. this is an area of medical care with which I have no experience
@jbminn sure! Google "hanselman artificial pancreas" and click videos if you want a deep dive
@shanselman whoa thatโ€™s awesome Scott!
@shanselman Fantastic new! Thatโ€™s straight up incredible!
@shanselman definitely looking forward to this making it to the Android - glad to see it's adjustable down into the mid 80s (as opposed to Omnipod's offering which bottoms out at 130). I suspect this will be available to me before Omnipod gets around to supporting it on the S22 at the rate they're moving (no new versions in 4+ months now).
@jlindborg yes, androidaps may do a lot of this now
@shanselman yeah, I've looked at Androidaps before - for Omnipod you have to use the bridging hardware and it felt just a bit hacky around the edges for me...
@shanselman this is SO exiting!! Will this work with Dexcom G6 and Tslim? Or is it strictly Omnipod for the moment?
@frank unclear! They havenโ€™t released but Loop 3 OSS is out and can answer that on LoopDocs
@shanselman @donmelton did you hear about https://www.usa.twinhealth.com? a few months with folks and you off meds in reversal
Twin Health

Twin Health
@neekeeteen @donmelton thanks for the information but thatโ€™s type 2 diabetes. Not type 1 which is not curable in this way
@shanselman @donmelton oh, got it, no worries and keep well
@shanselman thats very cool. Now if they could just develop microscopic insulin sensing devices with built in insulin peptide secreting machinery that they could reintroduce to your system that would be next level. But wouldnโ€™t have Apple Watch integration of course โ€ฆ
@shanselman I still remember, maybe 10 years ago now, that you spoke about your palm pilot-based solution on hanselminutes. This is awesome
